On October 28, 2016, the IAFOR Documentary Film Award & Festival (IDFA2016) will host its annual award ceremony and film festival and we encourage all documentary and film fans to join us at The Art Center of Kobe.
IDFA2016 is pleased to present the best entries from this year’s documentary competition in both the amateur and professional categories at our Competition Screening. Please join us as we honor a selection of films that demonstrate excellence in the craft of documentary filmmaking.
We will also present Leon Lee’s award winning documentary Human Harvest as the IDFA2016 Featured Documentary. Winner of the Peabody Award for Documentary and Canadian Screen Award Nominee, Human Harvest investigates government sanctioned organ harvesting in China linked to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
There will be a QnA session following the screening, to discuss the issues raised by the film, alongside Human Harvest director Leon Lee. This is a great opportunity to meet the filmmaker and have questions answered about the creative process and subject matter, including updates on the situation in China.
The IDFA was founded to seek out and reward the storytellers, documentarians and filmmakers who have demonstrated excellence in the craft of documentary filmmaking. The world’s most important and powerful stories are often the true everyday stories of our lives.
University students FREE with RSVP. Please email email@example.com with your full name and University name to reserve your ticket. Students will be required to show their Student ID at the venue.
